Why carbon
The case for activated carbon.
Most lawn programs treat the grass. Herbe treats the soil. The difference matters because healthy turf starts underground — in the structure, biology, and chemistry of the root zone.
Activated carbon is a highly porous material derived from Leonardite, a naturally occurring form of oxidized lignite. Its surface area is enormous relative to its size, which gives it an unusual ability to hold onto nutrients, water, and organic compounds — and release them gradually where roots can actually use them.

How it works
Four mechanisms. One formula.
Cation exchange
Carbon carries a negative charge that attracts and holds positively charged nutrient ions — nitrogen, potassium, calcium, magnesium. Instead of washing through the soil profile after rain or irrigation, those nutrients stay available in the root zone.
Soil structure
Carbon particles improve the physical structure of compacted or sandy soils by creating micro-pores that hold both air and water. Roots grow more easily through well-structured soil, and water infiltrates more evenly.
Humic acid synergy
Every Herbe formula pairs carbon with humic acid — a naturally occurring organic compound that improves nutrient uptake at the root membrane level. Carbon holds nutrients in the soil; humic acid helps roots absorb them more efficiently.
Balanced nutrition
The 14-0-10 + 2% sulfur base provides nitrogen for green-up, potassium for stress tolerance and root strength, and sulfur for enzyme function and pH management. No phosphorus — because most established lawns don't need it, and excess phosphorus runs off into waterways.
How to apply
Three steps. Every time.
Attach the bottle
Twist the 32 oz hose-end bottle directly onto your garden hose. No dilution, no measuring, no separate sprayer needed.
Walk your lawn
Turn on the water and walk at a steady pace across your lawn. The bottle meters the concentrate automatically as water flows through. One bottle covers 3,000–5,000 sq ft.
Let it work
No need to water in after application — the formula is designed to activate on contact with the soil. Avoid mowing for 24 hours to let the product settle.
